It is a pleasure and honor to serve as President of the Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals.  Having participated on the board with some of our predecessor organizations and again with ACVP for many years, it has been exciting to witness all of the changes. I have seen the organization grow and expand services and support our members more dynamically over the years.  I am privileged to now work with an incredible group of leaders to help continue the path and set new goals and direction to support cardiovascular professionals, nurses, managers and administrators more than ever before!

One of the key benefits of participation in ACVP is that the organization is collaborative and supportive.  Towards that end, we work with many organizations and are constantly pursuing opportunities to work with others in healthcare where at all possible.  Our philosophy is to not reinvent the wheel, but support others where possible and use our creative energies and talents to fill voids as required by our members!  With over five specialty councils providing specific information, with the Alliance providing a framework for distribution, we can support your role with detail as well as with big-picture advocacy.  We are adding a new specialty councils for support and networking including a Nursing Council and a Nuclear Cardiology Council.  These additions are designed to provide individuals in these specialty areas with the added information and recognition while obtaining the support from their colleagues working side-by-side with them.  .

As a result of our unique structure, we host more meetings with more CEUs available than through any other source.  We host meetings with supplier members, with other organizations (including the American College of Healthcare Executives), and institutional members of ACVP.  We are also pursuing relationships with distributors of information and publishers.  While we provide over 26 periodicals annually, we know our members are in need of information and material all the time -- we are striving to provide it for you timely and succinctly.

We are working on using technology more effectively for our  members' benefit through bringing courses online and offering members' only network areas so that you can get answers to daily questions and challenges.  With over 3000 members, it is quite likely a member has "been there, done that" and it is our job to connect you.  Our very own Connetwork service is designed to help provide this information bridge. 

Over the course of my term, I welcome your comments, your recommendations and most importantly, your feedback.  It is only through working together that we will better be able to accomplish our goals.
